What's the point of the "eShop" tag in Nintendo DLC dats?
Is it to differentiate names from the physical dats? Or to differentiate titles that are on the eShop to ones that aren't on the eShop? Or what?

My guess that this follows the format of having (PSN) in the old decrypted PSP dat as well, to differentiate cart and DLC versions of the same game if the dats were ever merged for any reason, and to differentiate eShop from Virtual Console tags (which are still sold on the eShop I assume?)
Because I forsee us keeping the dats between physical and digital separate, I agree the eShop tag is probably unnecessary? Unless someone has more insight

The DLC Dat is a mixture of things correct? Updates, DLC, games. Wouldn't it make sense to be able to differentiate what is what? Personally, I like the labeling.

Yes, the "DLC" dat (now called "Digital") is for all downloadable (+ pre-installed, etc) titles.
The thing is most titles are "eShop" so its a bit redundant. The ones that aren't on the eShop can be marked "system" etc.
