It would depend if dumpers want to convert the dumps and add them as well. Atm we dat the Initial data, XCI, Full XCI and are adding the card-id's as comment 2 because this is the 1:1 dump.

It's the same with the Nkit2 RVZ gamecube / Wii games project.
It would be a project hosted as an unofficial dat not added in the database, but then again somebody should rebuild all the games that are in DoM and put them in a dat and keep it up to date...

Sir, if you guys started hosting unofficial system dats for

RVZ for Nintendo disc images
xISO for Xbox disc images
CHD for other disc images

I think this site would get more traffic for your versions of the ReDump dats than ReDumps own website. Especially if you started offering Dat-O-Matic functions to filter out demos.

Edit: Sad thing is Dolphin includes a tool to get the information out of RVZ files, the issue is getting the rom managers to support it.

I guess the dats could have these as alt formats. But yeah would require someone(s) with a fullset to make sure the tool creates does lossless/reversible conversions, then hash the results.

The sad part is you don't even need a newer dat for the Gamecube/Wii RVZs as Dolphin already included an app with the emulator named "Dolphintool.exe" that can run in command-line and scan the RVZ files and return the checksums of it as an ISO to verify against.

It's just that no rom manager outside of OxyMoron wants to support it and that manager can get rough to use since it is purely command-line driven.

At this point, not sure which would be harder, to get a rom manager to support the app that would allow it use RVZ files without issue which would be a one and done fix or getting a person to maintain a dat file just with those changes which also then requires the RVZ files to be compressed with the same settings to match.

CHD though, now that I am thinking would require a special dat file. While CHD is lossless, the image it was built from can be an ISO, or a Bin/Cue with 1 or multiple tracks and each of them would require a different checksum returns depending on them.

xISO would only ever be an unofficial dat because it is lossy by nature since its dumping the padding data. Well, the older releases can be done losslessly with an app called "Xbox_Shrinker" since they can brute force the seed for the padding, but the later releases changed it so they can't be brute forced as easily.

Correction, Xbox_Shrinker could still allow for a proper Dat file since it can take the files where they can't brute force the seed and just separate the padding into a separate file to reattach later if you want to return it to a proper ReDump original.
