I'm curious, what do you think about the massive U-turn taken by the Resident Evil saga with Resident Evil VII and Resident Evil VIII Village?
As a "day one" obsessive fan of the series, in the very beginning I've had some serious issues accepting the "Resident Evil" name on the Resident Evil VII box, for obvious reasons.
But towards the end, and after playing the excellent DLCs I've come to terms with the fact that Resident Evil VII is not only a very good game, but a believable Resident Evil chapter.
I can't say the same with Resident Evil VIII Village though.
I mean, it's not a bad game, it was definitily fun.
But after a legion of vampires, werewolves, witches and shapeshifting monsters I was not sure anymore if I was playing a Resident Evil game or fu**ing Van Helsing.
They turned a survival horror into a fantasy, and with the "oniric" Rosemary DLC I think they make things even worse.
