Hi, For those who thought Pocket Monsters (Pokémon) SNES game is just a simple PD demo
Actually, it is a game but its has a funky copy protection that loops the intro
screen, possibly, to prevent the game being played in emulators after dumping from the backup unit.
Here is the IPS patch created by d4s

Now you can play this game in your favorite emulator or on your backup units.
I found this game is actually very similar to its Genesis pirate counterpart.
Get the patch from : http://www.dforce3000.de/snes/d4s_pokemon_crack.zip
Big credits to d4s for all this effort.

I am not sure exactly who originally dumped this game, but I think romar should also deserved to be credited as I remember clearly he also had successfully dumped this game a while back. Any info is appreciated, Thanks.
Heres a Youtube video link of Pocket Monsters for Genesis that I've found

it is, yeah. ported from a Mega Drive game of the same name, pretty much identical apart from the sound which is mostly ripped from the licensed game "Bonkers".Is this a pirate original?
there's another out there called "Pokemon Gold & Silver" (video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=woE7zZj4nIk - actually looks pretty good, the sound is from Bonkers again so it was probably made by the same company. no idea if that one has a Mega Drive equivalent though.

According to the pictures, this one claims to be produced by a pirate company: DVS Electronic Co. Ltd. with its own copyright

(which its logo is actually a copy of the Video CD logo)
Oh there is another Pokemon SNES bootleg??, Wow thats interesting, I didn't know that.. I thought and it seems that SNES pirates are really rare and scarce nowadays.. A majority of seems seems to have employed copy-protection of some sort..it is, yeah. ported from a Mega Drive game of the same name, pretty much identical apart from the sound which is mostly ripped from the licensed game "Bonkers".

I think we should put together a detailed list of what SNES pirate original game exists. and which are undumped and dumped.. it might help getting a game dumped

A shame that they use Bonkers' music and sound effects instead of using the music and sounds from the Megadrive/Genesis port though.

I bought this cart while in Brazil. I have a Tototek SNES dumper if it needs to be verified.
I know I've tried dumping them before with the proprietary utilities to get a lot of nothing... Unless I can get this thing dumped in ucon64 with some sort of hackery, I'm not sure if I can yet.
I actually grabbed all of my dumping stuff from my grandparents' garage today. How do I go about being a "trusted dumper" and all that jazz?

I just noticed this thread and correct me if I'm wrong, but this isn't a new dump? So why is it posted here? Moving to discussions.
PM me a list of your dumping hardware and carts, I'll then request some shots as a trust test, if you pass succesfully, you're in.I actually grabbed all of my dumping stuff from my grandparents' garage today. How do I go about being a "trusted dumper" and all that jazz?
uCON64 supports super flasher pretty well, in fact, there are a lot of carts such as ranma1/2 or roms>32MB that I could only dump with uCON64.Unless you modify uCON64's source and compile it, you won't be able to dump anything from "regular" cartridges. As is, uCON64 only lets you backup the flash cart's contents. You also don't seem to be the only one having problems with the official software as posts from ToToTEK's forum can attest.

D'oh! Reread the readme. Mentions the programmer and not the flash cart specifically. My mistake.

Not to derail the thread, but how well does the unit do with dumping special chip games? I now have renewed interest in this device since uCON64 can backup cartridge data as I've read the official software has some unfortunate bugs.

I'm having problems with the dump, it does not make any effect. And when I patch it LOTs of times, the music changesm then freezes. What is wrong?
