Hi Everyone.

As the whole merged set, 1game1rom thing is starting to role, and more people are starting to help out, i think its a good idea to start to catalogue what has been done, what needs to be done, who is doing what, and how to help out.

Below is an instruction on how to create the list

Code: Select all

Create a text file
and list the games like this:

ParentA
 CloneA1
 CloneA2
 CloneA3
ParentB
ParentC
 CloneC1
 CloneC2
ParentD

Below is a list of dat's, and status of their parent-clone lists

Just to be more specific, here is the NDS P/C List which I currently feed to DAT-O-MATIC to generate all derived P/C features (P/C DATs, 1G1R Lists & DATs, XMDB file and Batch file).

By building P/C Lists like this for other systems, all derived files can be generated automatically. Thanks xuom2 for making this possible.

xuom2 will announce when DAT-O-MATIC is ready for other systems.

Hmm good news!!!

The new XML based zipped rom collections come with options for creating merged sets!

according to bootgod here http://nesdev.parodius.com/bbs/viewtopi ... 1392#31392

Another thing I like about the new format is the ability to have ROM "sets", as in one zip can contain all the data for a game and any revisions or regional versions. Besides being more organized, it also has the bonus of being able to share ROMs, as quite often it is only the PRG ROM that changes.

the version of the code actually online is able to manage more systems except the edit part.
i only uploaded N64 information, just to debug, but any set can be uploaded (not tested the systems with more files/archive like the Amiga).
please note that with no N64 "regionalparent" info uploaded you can not download P/C dats.
my next moves will involve the confirmation system (status: 50%) and a wiki-style logging (status: 80%).
