I want to split those dat because even they use the same hardware (megadrive) the 32X is an addon (as the famicom disk system), if you disagree I won't do that.
Of course explain your choice

Yes because they don't use the same hardware. IIRC, the genesis only gives power supply to the 32X. And IIRC, and all processing chips used by 32X cart are specific to the 32X.

Yes, because I see them as different systems. Just as Jaguar/Jaguar CD or the Sega CD.

No, because the 32x needs the base system. It should be only split from the main dat if it also works standalone.

Yes, because 32X games doesn?t run on a standard genesis. This is more or less the case of FDS.

Yes, because:
NES - FDS
GBA - E-cards
c64pp - c64 Cart - c64 Tapes
Some of these work alone , some not, but I think if a console had more than one type of media, it's dat should be splitted

I agree completely with this statement. That's why I voted no.No, because the 32x needs the base system. It should be only split from the main dat if it also works standalone.

So why the nes and fds dat are separated ? FDS can't work without the standard famicom. We have to "harmonize" our dat.

It's the same point, if the FDS and Nes dat are separated, why the MegaDrive / 32X shouldn't be too ?I'm sure the point isn't the FDS dat there.
The common point of the 32X and the FDS :
1) They are addons hardware of an original system (as addon I want to say that they use them and not only for power).
2) Emulator who emulate the original system emulate them too
So split or not split ? (The both dat)

I vote for not split.
To be consistent some other dats need to be split too. For example Sufami Turbo (from SNES), Voice-kun CDs (from SNES; if they ever get dumped), 64DD (from N64; if they ever get dumped), etc.
That's far too much. Every system should only have one official No-Intro dat, imho.

The FDS dat will never be merged to NES.
32X must be splitted from Genesis, totally different hardware, it was a huge historical mistake to keep them merged.
A majority of the users AND Hi-Councilers have voted for splitting so the dats will be splitted at the next release.
And since I am the historical author of the 32X part of the dat (gigadeath used my 32X dat without any change), in your next update, do not include 32X at all, as I will claim the 32X dat.
Thanks for understanding.

I think it's only natural to split them... While it might be a hassle, it should be done.
