NES Wrong titles ?

Post by oxyandy »

Street Heroes (Asia) (Unl).nes
I wonder about the title.
The ROM contains (English & Chinese)
They are separate games.
As in, you are prompted to select which one when game boots.

Next one I wonder about is Bugs Bunny Birthday Bash (USA) (Beta) .nes
Yeah so it's a bad dump, I needed to made an ips patch so it loads.

But why is it there if it's a known bad dump ?

Next Dancing Blocks (Asia) (PAL) (Unl).nes
The title doesn't have an 'S' It should be Dancing Block (Asia) (PAL) (Unl)

I have just the Racermate roms & Dancing Blocks (Asia) (PAL) (Unl)
from the current set that don't load properly on Nestopia.
Still working on a solution.

BTW the Chinese you see on Street Heroes title screen is ?? pinyin shi hun (it's has no meaning, is just a name)
I can identify any Chinese names.

No-Intro goes by box/cart name instead of title screen name. The games are named correctly by this standard.

Street Heroes:
http://www.gamefaqs.com/nes/931316-stre ... /box-72455

Dancing Blocks:
http://www.gamefaqs.com/nes/924332-danc ... /box-94165

As for Birthday Bash, it is not the only known bad dump included in the database. No-Intro includes bad dumps if a good dump of the game does not exist. If anyone can redump the verified/suspected bad dumps, I'm sure many would be thrilled.

maybe Birthday Bash will be removed. There was some discussion whether it is bad or not. No one knows where it comes from. It seems to be pretty useless though. I guess Racermate uses an unemulated mapper.
