Hey everyone,
Recently Byuu(programmer of Bsnes) has started adding BS-X emulation, Nach(programmer of Zsnes) gave some info the Byuu about BS-X.
One of the things he has pointed out (still waiting for 100% confirmation) is that BS-X games where badly dumped, and often hacked so they would work on copiers and emulators.
What this basically means (as there isnt a single emulator out there that correctly emulates BS-X) that any BS game that works in a copier of emulator is automatically a hacked rom.
Bad news huh

PS, correct emulation of BS-X requires a bios, special memory mappers and a satelite simulator.

I don't think that all are hacked. Many should actually be good.
I also guess that you don't really need a satellite simulator. BS games should even today still work on a real SNES. You only need the BS-X base cartridge and a BS RAM cartridge with saved data. If you boot the cartridge you are in some kind of town and only need to go to the gaming house (or whatever it is called) and start the game. Of course all other features don't work. I think SNESGT currently is the only emulator that emulates this behavior.
The bigger problem is that most BS releases are undumped. There were like ~1200 individual games, magazines and add-ons released. However we only have 138.

thanks for the info.
But all the games currently in the dat boot on emulators that do not emulate BS-X, seeing as they are depended on the BS bios to run at all, this should not be happening
