Proto where it should be Beta in NES dat?

Post by C. V. Reynolds »

There are a couple of instances where the NES database uses (Proto) where I think it should be (Beta).

According to the P/C dat, "Mike Tyson's Intergalactic Power Punch (USA)" is an earlier version of "Power Punch II (USA)". "Mickey Mouse - Dream Balloon (USA)" is an earlier version of "Kid Klown in Night Mayor World (USA)".

Both pre-releases are marked as (Proto), but because they were released under different names (albeit with different graphics), they should be marked as (Beta).

A good example is in Bugs Bunny Birthday Blowout, The. The Beta (and it is indeed marked as Beta rather than Proto in the database) has a different name than the final release version, and is Bugs Bunny Birthday Bash. It is not the only example, though; only a single one.
