Silva Saga (NES) bad dump?

Post by ReyVGM »

I tried the no-intro release of Silva Saga for the NES and I noticed it has the same problem as the badly dumped GoodNES version: the dump comes with 3 saves already and if you load any of them, you are stuck in an ocean forever. It's easily fixable by deleting the save files, but still, doesn't that make it a bad dump then?

Interesting. The dump has been confirmed by ototo, not yet by bootgod who might know more. But I'd rather guess it is some kind of emulation issue since the game uses external save RAM like all NES games do. Possibly the real Famicom cart comes with a pre-set save-file which is not present on emulators. And if it initializes a first save file these weird files are generated. Just a guess but this is the best I can come up with at first glance.

Was it confirmed that it was a bad dump or not?
