Re: the wrong for NES Parent-Clone
rpg2813 is absolutely correct about Predator. The USA and Japan Predator games are completely different. Right at the start of the game, if you can't tell that they're completely different, then you're not playing the right games.

No, he isn't right, neither you. Do you guys know that *both* JPN and USA Predator have "Jungle" and "Big" mode stages, just arranged in different order?

Re: the wrong for NES Parent-Clone
Then you're saying that the rearrangement isn't enough to split them, then? Well, I don't agree, but can accept that. Next time, however, I would appreciate if you explained your reasons ahead of time to prevent the argument in the first place.

Re: the wrong for NES Parent-Clone
Explain my reasons? It's not me requesting the change, don't be wrong. I did my work by reading a bit and play the game for more than just the FIRST JPN stage (FYI you can easily skip both types of stages with a key combo on emu), so it was obvious to me that both JPN and USA were the same game. I don't have to explain why an unsupported request is unsupported. In fact I don't *have* to explain anything.

Re: the wrong for NES Parent-Clone
I know that you may be in a bad mood today, but please do remember that you're talking to other people here. There's no need to be rude or condescending.
If you do not have to explain your reasons, then don't get upset when people challenge you for not having reasons. We don't have to just follow everything you say blindly, do we? And I DID play to the second stage of the Japanese Predator, at least. The second stage is different from the first three stages of the USA version, so it isn't JUST the first stage, for what it's worth (not much more than principle).
While I'm glad to receive information I was not aware of (the rearrangement of the stages), upon gaining this information I'm going to stick to my opinion that a split is needed under current comparisons. The Pokemon games, namely. If they're all deserving of a split for minor graphical changes, then why is Predator not for being rearranged? What are the guidelines that No-Intro follows?
Of course, I'm requesting you explain something here, which you have stated you do not have to do, but I am merely reqesting an answer, and I'm not trying to be rhetorical. Please be kind enough to explain it for me.

Re: the wrong for NES Parent-Clone
I'm not in a bad mood but upset. By now I think I've shown that I know what I'm doing here, so I'm not going to tolerate anybody saying that "I'm not playing the right games", specially when that person pops up in the discussion supporting the wrong point without proper own investigation.
I've already explained why JPN Pokemon R/G/B should be separate games: 3 != 2, period. It's not just about "graphical differences". Western R/B being developed from JPN B game (and not R/G) is a fact. Forcing P/C relations just because of title similarities is wrong.

Any suggestion is welcome, but kazumi213 has the final words about P/C guidelines. Without his decisions, our sets would be a lot less coherent.

Re: the wrong for NES Parent-Clone
Hmm? I assume that you must mean this:
"if you can't tell that they're completely different, then you're not playing the right games."
I'm sorry about that, but I didn't intend that directly at you, Kazumi. No way did I think that something like THAT would upset you, so it surely wasn't my intention. Regardless, I apologize and I should have excised that line from my post before I sent it (shouldn't have been in a rush). Is it unreasonable, however, to think that you could make a mistake and run the wrong ROM image? Everyone makes mistakes, no matter if they're on the High Council or a mere suggestion maker/wrong name reporter like myself. There's no need to get hostile about these things and declare that you don't have to explain reasons.
Now, I don't understand everything here, because Pokemon Ao was like Yellow in that it was an extra type released later in addition to the first two releases (Aka and Midori, which are Red and Blue, color changes nonwithstanding), but I'm in acceptance of it because I've been told how it's going to go (like Xuom says, you're the boss). I have no problem with that as a result. I'm just a bit confused why they all get separated for essentially being remixes/rearrangements when Predator doesn't get the same treatment. I'm not trying to be a jerk here and I'm not trying to force a Predator split. I just legitimately want to know what the guidelines are for splitting/merging. It would help me make better suggestions for the future and satisfy my thirst for knowledge at the same time.
EDIT: Oh, I guess I shouldn't leave out the possibility that there are no SPECIFIC guidelines. If that's how it is, then that's okay as well. I just wanted to know.
