Hi,
I have started a collection of Wii U titles downloaded with Wii U USB Helper. I want to start datting them as I do with all games in my collection. The problem is that No-Intro doesn't keep the "*.h3" files (or the ticket or certificate, but they can be generated/copied from elsewhere).
I have been toying around with various scripts to roll my own that would decrypt the corresponding ".app" and store its hash in a ".h3", but the hashes just never match the original.
Has someone made a script that will take a title from the No-Intro Wii U (Digital) (CDN) set and convert it ready for installation on a Wii U with WUP Installer?
Kind regards,
Ben

Re: Wii U (Digital) (CDN) -> WUP
nevermind, I wrote it myself based on: https://github.com/ihaveamac/wiiu-thing ... decrypt.py
Here's my pull request: https://github.com/ihaveamac/wiiu-things/pull/9
Takes a game from a "Nintendo - Wii U (Digital) (CDN)" set and adds the necessary .h3 files, certificate and renames the No-Intro TMD and App files appropriately so it can be installed with WUP Installer GX2.
If the title didn't need a ticket file then you'll have to generate a fake one using something like NUSspli before installing: https://github.com/V10lator/NUSspli

.h3 files downloaded from the CDN should be added soon btw, but useful script anyway, thanks.

Thanks mate. Are you saying they're soon going to be included in the sets themselves (and so also in the DAT)?

Oh, sweet. I could see their reasoning as the h3s are just a hash so can be regenerated, but I think for the sake of such tiny files and them being necessary for installation, it's the right move. After all, while preservation might be the ultimate goal the content should still be accessible/usable with as little tinkering as possible.
Appreciate your info. Thanks.

Re: Wii U (Digital) (CDN) -> WUP
First thanks for al the datting.
Guess the Nintendo - Wii U (Digital) (CDN) (#3672 ~ 2023-02-01 12:30:00 ~ P/C: #4) datfile does now contain (not all?) .h3 files.
But I notice that almost (if not all) all separate archives (games) are inserted with the same 00000005.h3 00000006.h3 00000008.h3 files.
As I have a limited understanding of these file they should be a hashed value based on the according data file.
But I do think that adding all above mentioned .h3 files to all WiiU CDN content is an error?
Thanks again!
