IRC Server or Channel for No-Intro

Hi all,

I often wanted to just reach someone for a simple question or small talk.
I haven't found some instant messaging people using here. I heard some people use discord but wouldn't oldschool IRC be better for this?
I still use it very often for several other stuff.

If people want a dedicated server for IRC, I could setup one and the admins could create a DNS AAA record for it to reach it via irc.no-intro.org or something.

Tell me your thoughts.

I wouldn't mind joining a No-Intro IRC, although I'd want to set up a bouncer (or something) first so I didn't miss posts - that's one of the advantages of discord.

I'm more fan of IRC as you can be more anonymous.
I already have multible discord accounts and don't want to have another one.

But in the end both would be okay for me. IRC still prefered. But yeah without bounce IRC isn't as fun as discord is.

Just the arrogant opinion from an old man: I have a different idea of "fun", and find that some "digital hoarding" is excessive (backupping chats ): for this reason I tend to avoid Discord.

Should we join an existing IRC server. Would be the easiest option imo?
Which one fits our needs best. Any opinions?

Freenode sounds like a good place for a #nointro channel.

Join the channel and say hello.

Port: 6666
Port for SSL (recommended): 6697
Channel: #no-intro

There is special web client provided by freenode to access via browser:

There are also tons of fat clients like hexchat or weechat for the command line.
