Caution!!! a BIG PROBLEM about gbata \ coolhj on 29-Jan-2004 08:02 wrote:

Caution! Here is very stupid and very serious problem.

Don't put the application gbata.exe into a root directory, for example "d:\gbata.exe". If you put gbata.exe into a root directory,and if you open a zip file at the first time,when you open another file , all the files in which folder you just opened will be deleted!

Sorry for my poor explanation,Here is an example:
1.put the gbata.exe into a root directory,such as "d:\gbata.exe"
2.run "d:\gbata.exe"
3.open "e:\gba\gbarom.zip"
4.open "e:\gba2\gbarom.zip" or other *.zip or *.gba file in e:\gba2\
5.a terrorful thing happen,all files e:\gba2\*.* is lost!!!!

Sorry for this , I'll fix it soon.

GBATA v0.5 - Small Error \ Dopefish on 03rd April 2004, 12:55 wrote:

I've found a small error in coolhj's GBATA v0.5:

GBATA says that "7N" is "LSP", but actually it's "Empire Interactive", because "LSP" is "6Y"!

For example see Starsky & Hutch for "7N" = "Empire Interactive" and...

CT Special Forces I+II for "6Y" = "LSP"

CU! :P

===============================================

/ coolhj on 03-Apr-2004 14:27 wrote:

Good! Thanks for the report!

And I still have one question. Please check 0479 - CT Special Forces (E) (M6).zip & 1379 - CT Special Forces (U) (M6).zip .

0479 is "6Y - LSP" , that's ok, and the first screen is "LSP".

But for 1379,it is "FL",which still not be set in GBATA's publisher database,and the first screen is "Hip Games"insted of "LSP", the second screen is "LSP"

So which is publisher? "Hip Games" or "LSP"?

===============================================

/ Dopefish on 04-Apr-2004 12:05 wrote:

#1379 is the US version and it's publisher is indeed "Hip Games" = "FL" and not "LSP".

I've found another error: "7F" = "Kemco" and not "Capcom" (= "08").

An example for "7F" is #0206 - Mech Platoon (E).

/ Connie on 04-Apr-2004 23:16 wrote:

I started the following attachment just recently but it got very confusing due to the number of variations/discrepencies. I wasn't sure if there was a difference in the maker code (as per the header info) and the publisher name as listed in for ex. "GBAFront".

To make it easier if you wish to double check my findings, I only searched the 1st hundred or so realeses and then picked a game at random to see if the code matched. As Dopefish mentioned, the big one is Capcom vs Kemco. The other to consider is the different codes for Konami which I narrowed down to different regions but two on each code.

Every little helps, Connie ;)

/ Dopefish on 07-Apr-2004 18:43 wrote:

...and another one:
"7M" = "AIA" or "Asmik Ace Entertainment Inc." and not "Ubi Soft" which is actually "41"

---

I prefer "AIA" cause it's shorter and it seems to be the official short form, just take a look at the logo in "1446 - Demon Driver (U)". Or is this game developed by "Ignition" and "AIA" is the publisher? Then "7M" should be "Ignition"! :?

===============================================

Thanks, but I think "7M" should be "Asmik Ace Entertainment Inc." . 0186 - Dokapon is an example.

GBA Tool Advance V0.6 - Manual \ Gallantmon on 09th November 2004, 05:32 wrote:

Is there a Manual or help file or FAQ for this tool? Anybody can point me to a web site that contains this information? Or is the tool so simple to use that none have been written?

Or perhaps, somebody can help me with the following questons that I have, so that I know I'm using the tool correctly, based on the following background:

I'm using Flash2Advance Ultra 512MB, with PowerWriter 2.12 and 2.3 CIZ:

1. For the SRAM patch, is this to be used for "all" games that uses the Flash 1M save types? Any other types I should be aware of that would need this? I've been having problems with Pokemon FireRed (1695) & LeafGreen (1691) (both "pure") in that I get white screen, until i use the GBATA SRAM patcher on them. It works now, but I continue to get error that the save file is corrupt, although the game appears to be able to continue from where it was last saved. Any advice if what I've done is correct, and also if there's a way to rid of the "save file currupt" problem?

2. For the Clock Fix, how do i know when to use it? For the Pokemon (eg Ruby, FireRed etc), should I patched it? For the FireRed (1195), it was shown to be "unneeded"

3. Fixed Overdump: How do we know whether a cartridge is overdump? I've tried to "backup my cartridges" via F2A Writer 3.1, and have used the *.DAT as guideline as to the size. But without those information, how do I know what is the actual size of the cartridge?

4. Remove Intro - What does the various "Draw" options actually do?

Perhaps more queries will come in soon, as I explore the use of this great tool... Thanks in advance on any advise/help.

/ coolhj on 11-Nov-2004 02:35 wrote:

Check readme.txt

1, You have to continue the game with this "save file currupt" problem, no solution for now

2, For ruby and sapphire series only
3, To know whether the released rom is overdump, check no-intro site always. If you know someting about the data structure, you can check it with the hexeditor.

4, It means rip the intro as a independent intro demo file.
