It seems No-Intro data (sometimes modified) is used in mame without credit.
Did No-Intro give permission for this?

Same with Redump dumps.. do other projects need permission nowadays? Trurip was also "borrowing" Redump stuff before.Hiccup wrote: 14 Nov 2018 20:56 It seems No-Intro data (sometimes modified) is used in mame without credit.

I'm not saying there's a big problem with it (though preferably people should credit No-Intro) - its just that someone was asking.

The DATs contain no copyrightable information, so people can legally use them as they wish.

Nothing was asked, but our work is public. Anyone can use our data.

Exactly, there's absolutely no reason to credit No-Intro. Credit for what anyways? It's not No-Intro that comes up with CRCs or whatever, those are inherent properties of the artefacts we document.Buddybenj wrote: 15 Nov 2018 03:18 The DATs contain no copyrightable information, so people can legally use them as they wish.
