Pokemon - Red and Blue are not the same as Pocket Monsters - Aka and Ao.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pokémon_Red_and_Blue

Both Pokemon - Red and Blue are based on the updated code/graphics from Pocket Monsters - Ao, but with monster lists based on Pocket Monsters - Aka and Midori

yes,we know red and blue is updated from ao(or aka)
and we judge the region by the boxart of game
so aka=red,ao=blue
maybe the japanese who are the fans of pocket monster can get me the answer?
