Error could mean card was not recognized properly by the DS. Does it always boot at once if you attempt to play it?

I got some of these errors in wooddumper myself. It went away after removing and re-inserting the offending cart. Maybe cleaning the contacts carefully would be another good idea.

Yes. The contacts are very clean.

Be patient, I think this will be checked soon by the resident coder :)

Re: Full Header Redumps Thread

Post by Pikachu025 »

I just ran into a weird issue trying to dump Jam with the Band (E) via wooddumper slot2 r27, it shows me that card id and secure cardid are not identical and instantly aborts the dump. Retrying the dump gives a different cardid/secure cardid, and removing and reinserting the card seems to restart the sequence of displayed ids.

The card itself looks real and came complete with box, manual, and other stuff (health and safety booklet, NWFC connection manual, and Nintendo DS ads), so I'm not entirely sure what the cause of that could be. Any ideas?

I had this happen once. I fixed it by inserting another cart and all the info came up correctly, then I hit Y to chenge carts and re-inserted the offending cart. Dump went fine after that. Give it a try and let me know if that helps.

tests will be done with Jam with the Band (E), maybe this will solve the same problem on the other carts.

another error on r85

(1) insert any card
(2) press <A> -> card init success.
(3) press <Y> and press <A> (without eject a cart) -> card init fail.

this is not bug but feature. there is impossible reread header and secure area without card reinserting. any other tool has same behaviour.

I only got an error with final fantasy 3.

It's just basicly a contact error of the pins/contacts at the back of the card - if unclean are scratched .

I use a cotton bud gave pins/contacts a brush downwards.

On this try work right away :) with wooddumper R85

Also unsert and insert a few times also works after a bit.
