What's the point in adding pictures of outside of carts/boxes?

Post by Hiccup »

Is there really any point in adding pictures of outsides of carts/boxes if the serials etc are recorded in the database?

From my point of view: if there is no pictures there is no doubt to source.

The second important part: many games had different cases and boxes, and sometimes we need to investigate differences between those versions/revisions. Real picture is the fastest way to do this.

But we don't need large photos of boxes/carts, I resizing them to fit 1024x600 or so, but for carts (front/back) we need to have maximum quality pictures.

But for different versions of boxes, wouldn't recording the serials/barcode be enough?

And I understand why PCBs should have photos - there aren't currently fields in the database to record the different serials/components, but why the outside of the cart? To identify fakes? Couldn't there just be instructions on how the dumpers can do that themselves?

Better is pictures the you cab see and look at the differences easy.

With only barcodes you need to search again for proof.
And you can see the differnces when there are changes in revisions , sometimes new pictures.
i prefer pictures before barcodes.
