Switch Game Updates

Post by joebacca » 30 Nov 2019 14:59

Hi everyone,

I'm hoping to become a contributor to the switch database but first I am comparing my dumps to the current No-Intro database to ensure I am dumping correctly. I am using both guides here:
[*] https://wiki.no-intro.org/index.php?tit ... ping_Guide
[*] https://wiki.no-intro.org/index.php?tit ... ping_Guide

I can successfully dump an XCI of a game and have it matched using Romulus + Dat file. However, if I follow the Digital Software Dumping Guide for the updates using the Nintendo Switch (Digital) (NSP) dat, I can not get a match for the life of me.

Is there something else that needs to be done?

Are you comparing the NCA or NSP hashes? The NSPs won't match as each tool is free to create the NSPs in a different way (no standard).
If you are comparing the NCA hashes, could you post those hashes and the title ids + title versions?
Its possible that they just aren't in the dat yet (i.e. the NCAs haven't been extracted from the scene release and datted yet) or they don't have any scene release or datted p2p release.

Ok, I am clearly comparing wrong. I am simply using Romulus and the dat file which just compares the nsp file

How do I compare NCA hashes?

I can confirm that the updates I am trying to compare are in the dat file.

The digital dumping guide has in fact been updated recently and now has instructions for extracting the NCAs (and the cetk and title key).
